Born in 1982 in Patagonia, Argentina, Alexia moved to Buenos Aires at age 16. She earned a B.A. with honors in Business Administration from the University of Buenos Aires, while taking theatre workshops with Raquel Sokolowicz and Helena Tritek. Upon graduation, she dedicated her life to acting.
Bio
In 2010, Alexia completed a postgraduate degree in classical theatre at the London Academy of Dramatic Arts (LAMDA), and trained in Commedia Dell’Arte with Complicité under the direction of Marcello Magni.
In 2011, Alexia returned to Buenos Aires and was nominated for an ACE Award for her performance in ¨Filosofía de Vida¨ at Metroplitan II, directed by Javier Daulte, alongside prominent figures from the Argentine scene, including Alfredo Alcón, Rodolfo Bebán and Claudia Lapacó. She also filmed her first leading feature film role ¨La Cacería¨ directed by Carlos Orgambide, and her first series regular role in the television series ¨Babylon¨, directed by Gastón Portal.
From 2012–13, Alexia trained in Brechtian theatre as well as in French poetry under Nada Strancar at the Conservatoire National Supérieur d´Art Dramatique (CNSAD) in Paris, France.
In 2015, Alexia took on the lead role in the international feature film ¨The Irish Prisoner¨, which premiered at Syracuse International Film Festival. In 2018, she starred in ¨Palau¨ (Ollawood Productions and Rivka Entertainment Group) alongside Gastón Pauls in which she played the mother of the title role over three different decades.
She also appeared in the feature films ¨10 Palomas¨ (2019) and ¨Devoto¨ (2018). Television credits include ¨Monzón¨ (Disney, 2019) and a series regular in ‘Supermax’ (O’Globo Brasil/HBO Spain, 2016), written by Mario Segade and directed by Daniel Burman.
In theatre, Alexia recently portrayed Miranda in ¨The Tempest¨ at the San Martin Theater (2018, dir. Penny Cherns); a one-woman multimedia adaptation of The Yellow Wallpaper (2017, dir. Sebastián Kalt) at the San Martin Cultural Center; readings for the Buenos Aires Lyric symphonic concert performance of ¨A Midsummer Night’s Dream¨ (2017, dir. Alfredo Martin-Pedro Pablo Prudencio) at the Avenida Theatre; and her performance ¨VOICES¨ (2019), about the female universe.
In 2020, Alexia is appearing in the feature films ¨The Last Zombie¨ (dir. Martín Basterretche) and ¨Chau Buenos Aires¨ (dir. Germán Kral) and the Netflix series ¨The Kingdom¨ (dir. Marcelo Piñeyro). She is currently working on the podcast ¨The Happy Prince¨ about stories by Oscar Wilde, as well as developing the documentary ¨Growing up in quarantine.
